Where initial sketches come to life: the design process starts at our studio in London and travels to artisans worldwide, who craft the products that make up the MG&Co. collection with care. From inlaid lacquered wood to our beeswax candles, explore the processes behind some of our products.
Lacquered Wood
Coloured panels of Maple, Bolivar, Tay and Mahogany wood are inlaid and lacquered layer-upon-layer to achieve a high gloss finish. This marquetry results in a unique mix of grains and knots, brought seamlessly together into our Lacquer Collection.
Natural Beeswax
Our candles are hand-poured in England, using moulds designed at our London studio. Chalky in hue, they are 100% Beeswax with approximately eight hours of burn time - lasting longer than soy-blends.
Cork
An oft-overlooked material in homewares, cork's durability and versatility were the foundations of our capsule collection. Blocks of cork are hand-turned to create strong silhouettes, drawn from traditional design - from our Obelisk Lamps to large and small Cork Urns.
Woven Cotton
Each MG&Co. Bathmat is hand-woven in Portugal from blended recycled cotton, inspired by techniques from the past. Our Waffle Hand Towels are crafted from traditional waffle weave and add an extra layer of character to a bathroom.
